Crystal Palace were beaten 2-0 by Tottenham in the Premier League after the two sides met in north London for the 5.30pm GMT kick-off.

Early updates from the match indicated that Tottenham had taken control of possession. After six minutes, Spurs were moving the ball quickly around midfield as Palace looked to stay level in the opening stages.

The match also carried an early significance for the Premier League table. At the three-minute mark, a point for Palace would have seen Manchester United drop into the bottom three, with United provisionally occupying that position while the visitors remained level.

Palace ultimately finished the game without a point, as Tottenham secured a 2-0 victory.
