Crystal Palace will face a Tottenham side expected to have James Maddison available for Saturday’s Premier League meeting at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 GMT.

Tottenham manager Roberto de Zerbi confirmed Maddison has recovered sufficiently to be considered for the match after he was forced off against Chelsea. However, Tosin, Lucas Bergvall and Mykhailo Mudryk remain unavailable for the hosts.

De Zerbi said Maddison has been working consistently over the past four or five weeks and suggested the club would assess whether selecting him represented any risk of a further injury. He also stressed that players returning from fitness issues may need to work harder than their team-mates, while noting Tottenham’s squad depth gives them options.

Tottenham go into the Palace fixture after a 2-0 victory over Chelsea, and De Zerbi challenged his players to build on that result. The manager said consecutive wins would require greater focus, appetite and consistency, adding that one or two victories alone would not be enough for the club’s ambitions.

The Tottenham boss also highlighted the threat posed by his side from distance, with four of their last five goals coming from outside the penalty area. He said the team was improving in several areas and believed they could score in a wider range of situations.
