Jørgen Strand Larsen has praised Crystal Palace’s response to going behind early in their Premier League victory over Nottingham Forest, saying the team’s positive mindset was central to the result.

The Eagles conceded after only three minutes at Selhurst Park when Dan Ndoye gave Forest the lead. Palace were under pressure for much of the first half, with goalkeeper Walter Benítez making important saves to keep his side in contention.

Palace then turned the match around before the interval, with Strand Larsen involved in the move that produced their first goal. The Norwegian later saw an effort saved soon after half-time, but Yéremy Pino reacted quickest to the rebound and completed the comeback.

Speaking to Palace TV, Strand Larsen described the match as intense and credited the squad’s character after the difficult start. He also highlighted Benítez’s contribution, including the save from Liam Delap, while stressing that Palace continued to believe the game could be won even after falling behind.

The victory was Palace’s first home Premier League win of the season. Strand Larsen felt the performance also showed improving understanding between the players and staff, although he acknowledged that the team must avoid giving opponents so many opportunities. He added that Forest’s quality and Oliver Glasner’s knowledge of Palace made the contest particularly demanding.

Palace now face three away matches, with trips to Olympique Lyonnais and Beşiktaş in Europe either side of the visit to Brighton & Hove Albion. Strand Larsen said the squad would quickly turn its attention to recovery and the demanding run of fixtures ahead.
