Crystal Palace produced a stirring comeback against Nottingham Forest, recovering from an early setback to secure their first win. Forest took the lead after just three minutes when Dan Ndoye pounced on a loose back-pass from Anan Khalaili and finished past Walter Benitez.

Palace almost responded immediately, with Jorgen Strand Larsen twice going close. Matz Sels kept out one attempt, while Murillo blocked another as Forest continued to threaten at the other end. Ndoye then headed at Benitez, while Daniel Munoz sent a dipping effort narrowly wide.

Forest came close to adding a second when Morgan Gibbs-White struck the crossbar from distance. Liam Delap met the rebound, but Benitez made an excellent close-range save to keep Palace within touching distance. The missed chances proved costly as Palace levelled before half-time, with Daichi Kamada finishing a well-worked move for his first Premier League goal.

The Eagles completed the turnaround just before the interval. Sels saved from Tyrick Mitchell, but Jefferson Lerma forced the resulting corner through the goalkeeper to put Palace ahead.

Forest continued to search for an equaliser after the break, although Xaver Schlager and Gibbs-White were unable to convert their openings. Sels also denied Lerma a second goal before Palace struck again shortly before the hour mark. After Sels had parried Strand Larsen’s effort, Yeremy Pino reacted quickest to the loose ball and calmly finished.

Palace continued to look for a fourth, while Benitez preserved the advantage late on by pushing away a header from Chris Wood. The result completed a memorable fightback after Forest’s rapid opening goal.
