Crystal Palace have received a boost ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Nottingham Forest, with Anan Khalaili declared fit and available for the 14:00 BST kick-off.
The wing-back suffered an injury while on international duty with Israel, but has recovered in time to return to contention. Manager Pierre Sage indicated that Khalaili is ready to complete the full match if selected.
Jean-Philippe Mateta has also taken a significant step forward by returning to training. The forward has not featured since Palace’s opening-day defeat by Everton, although Sage confirmed that the Forest fixture comes too soon for him.
Dean Henderson and Takehiro Tomiyasu will also miss the weekend game. Sage expects the three players to be available for either the meeting with Lyon or the following Sunday’s fixture against Brighton.
There was further encouragement in attack as Ismaïla Sarr was confirmed as available to start. Sage said the winger had produced his strongest training session of the week as Palace look to bring him back to his best.
