Crystal Palace welcome Nottingham Forest to Selhurst Park on Sunday at 14:00 BST, with the match taking on added significance as Forest manager Oliver Glasner returns to face the club he guided to major honours.

Glasner did not beat Forest in any of his five matches against them while in charge of Palace, but he has since moved to the City Ground. The fixture has been a difficult one for Palace more broadly: they have not won any of their 12 Premier League meetings with Forest, the longest such run against an opponent in the competition for either side.

The Austrian is widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in Palace’s history after leading the club to the FA Cup in 2025 and the Conference League a year later. Although his departure may have disappointed some supporters, chairman Steve Parish has asked fans to give Glasner a warm reception and avoid what he described as “pantomime narratives”.

Palace’s current manager, Pierre Sage, secured his first Premier League clean sheet in the recent draw with Leeds United. However, both of his home league matches so far have ended in defeat. Sage has also used 27 players in the league after five matches, a joint-high figure in the division, making greater continuity an important target as Palace look to improve their position.

Forest’s contrasting home and away form will provide another challenge. They failed to score in each of their four league and cup matches at the City Ground, yet have taken impressive away results from Liverpool and Aston Villa. They have also scored at least twice in seven straight top-flight away games, a club-record sequence.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been central to that run, contributing a goal or assist in each of his last eight Premier League away appearances. One more such contribution at Selhurst Park would see him match the competition record shared by Andy Cole, Robin van Persie and Erling Haaland.
