Crystal Palace overturned an early deficit to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park, giving Pierre Sage his first home Premier League victory since succeeding Oliver Glasner.
Forest struck after only three minutes when Dan Ndoye took advantage of a defensive error to run through and beat Walter Benítez. The goalkeeper then kept Palace in the contest, producing a crucial double save to deny Liam Delap and Morgan Gibbs-White before the hosts began to turn the match around.
Daichi Kamada levelled before half-time, scrambling the ball home inside the six-yard box after a deflection sent it into his path. It was the midfielder’s first Premier League goal for Palace in his 68th appearance, adding another layer to an afternoon that saw him face the manager who had previously worked with him at Eintracht Frankfurt and later brought him to Selhurst Park.
Palace completed the turnaround shortly afterwards. Jefferson Lerma rose to meet a corner, with the ball squeezing through Matz Sels and crossing the line to put the hosts ahead. Forest had threatened early on, but their defending from set pieces remained vulnerable as Palace gained control.
Yéremy Pino sealed the result in the second half after Quinten Timber’s pass was diverted into the path of Jørgen Strand Larsen. Sels saved the forward’s initial effort, but Pino reacted quickest to score the rebound and make it 3-1.
The result made for a difficult return to south London for Glasner, who received a warm welcome before kick-off but was later targeted by chants from the home support. Forest had late opportunities through Ndoye and Neco Williams, although Palace had already done enough to secure a memorable comeback.
