Crystal Palace return to Europa League action on Thursday 15 October when they travel to Lyon for a Groupama Stadium meeting. The match is scheduled to begin at 18:45 and will be shown live and exclusively on Canal+ Foot.
The Eagles made a strong start to their European campaign by beating Lech Poznan 4-2. Yéremi Pino opened the scoring in the 10th minute before Chris Richards doubled Palace’s advantage in the 27th minute. Jorgen Strand Larsen added a third seven minutes later, while Eddie Nketiah completed the win with an 89th-minute goal.
Palace could have several important players available for the trip to France, with Dean Henderson, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Jean-Phillipe Mateta among those who may return to the squad.
Lyon also began their campaign with a victory, defeating Anderlecht 2-1 through goals from Noah Nartey and Keito Nakamura. However, the French side’s preparations have been affected by injuries: Loïs Openda is ruled out after suffering a right calf problem against Lens, while Moussa Niakhaté remains a doubt.
The absences could force Lyon manager Paulo Fonseca to alter his attacking plans, with Rémi Humbert and Pavel Sulc among the options mentioned. Palace will therefore face a Lyon side trying to build on its opening win while managing a number of selection concerns.
Viewers in France can watch the fixture on Canal+ Foot through the Canal+ Sport package, advertised at €29.99 per month for one year before rising to €39.99, with a two-year commitment. The package also includes access to European competitions, the Premier League, the Top 14 and Formula 1.
