Crystal Palace are nearing their return to competitive action, with preparations intensifying ahead of Nottingham Forest’s visit to Selhurst Park. The Eagles have been working hard this week after a period away from club football.
Eleven members of Pierre Sage’s squad spent time on international duty during the past three weeks. They have now returned, allowing the Palace group to reunite before the resumption of Premier League action.
Anan Khalaili is ready to play the full 90 minutes against Forest, according to Sage. Ismaïla Sarr is also available to start after producing his strongest training session of the week, with the manager hoping to see him rediscover his best form.
Jean-Philippe Mateta completed his first training session with the team after a lengthy spell out. However, he will not be available for the weekend fixture, while Dean Henderson and Takehiro Tomiyasu are also unavailable for the Forest game.
Palace expect Mateta, Henderson and Tomiyasu to return for the meeting with Lyon or the following Sunday’s match against Brighton on 18 October. Supporters can watch the latest training footage through the club’s CCTV series, with a selection of photographs also released from the session.
