Tyrick Mitchell has revisited the defining moments of his football journey in the latest episode of Crystal Palace’s My Photo Album series, tracing his path from the cages of North-West London to the Premier League and England duty.

Now 25, Mitchell has already reached two significant Palace milestones, becoming the youngest player in the club’s history to make 100 and then 150 Premier League appearances. His story began with competitive games in Hatch End before he joined Pinner Albion in Sunday League football, with local rivalries helping shape his early years in the game.

Mitchell made his Premier League debut for Palace against Leicester City during the COVID-affected period. He later scored his first top-flight goal against Aston Villa at Selhurst Park, a match in which he also registered an assist. His most recent Palace goal came during the club’s emphatic victory over Manchester United, a result that also gave him the chance to celebrate with friends who support United.

The full-back’s most significant achievement away from Selhurst Park came in March 2022, when he made his England debut at Wembley. The occasion carried particular meaning because the stadium is close to his North-West London home, making his appearance for the national team the fulfilment of a dream that had once seemed distant.

In the feature, Mitchell also recalls sharing the pitch with players he had previously watched on Match of the Day, including Sergio Agüero. Looking back at photographs from his childhood, he reflects on the distance travelled from playing for local side AFC Wembley to establishing himself at the highest level with Crystal Palace and England.
