Crystal Palace Under-21s will take on Swindon Town, Plymouth Argyle and Newport County in Group E of this season’s Vertu Trophy, with the dates for each fixture now confirmed.
Darren Powell’s side will face the first teams of all three clubs, offering the Young Eagles another opportunity to test themselves against League One and League Two opposition. Every Palace fixture in the competition will be played away from home.
Ticket details for the individual matches will be announced later. Supporters in the UK will also be able to watch every game in this season’s Vertu Trophy live on Sky Sports+, from the group stage through to the final.
Palace have recent history with two of their Group E opponents in this competition. The Under-21s beat Swindon 2-0 in the 2022/23 campaign, with John-Kymani Gordon scoring both goals, while Plymouth recorded a 1-0 victory over the Young Eagles during the same season.
The Vertu Trophy features 48 League One and League Two clubs alongside 16 Category One academies. Palace have been placed in the southern section, where the top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages.
