Crystal Palace Under-21s have been placed in Group D of this season’s Premier League International Cup, setting up a series of tests against some of Europe’s leading clubs.
Darren Powell’s side will meet Paris Saint-Germain, PSV Eindhoven, RSC Anderlecht and FC Porto. Palace have already begun their campaign, defeating PSG 2-1 in early September, with Adler Nascimento and Seb Williams scoring for the Young Eagles.
All of Palace’s group matches will be played at Sutton’s Borough Sports Ground. Brighton & Hove Albion, Ipswich Town and Sunderland are also in Group D, although Palace will only face the four invited European teams during the group stage. Further information on tickets and broadcasts will be released separately.
The 32-team competition brings together the top 16 Premier League 2 finishers and 16 European invitees. Four groups of eight are formed, with each containing four English and four international sides; English clubs do not play one another in the opening phase.
Palace have enjoyed notable success in the tournament in recent seasons. After losing 3-1 to Jong PSV in the 2022/23 final, the Young Eagles defeated the same opponents 1-0 the following year to win the trophy. They reached the quarter-finals last season after topping their group with victories over Juventus, FC Nordsjælland and Borussia Mönchengladbach, before exiting against Real Sociedad. The squad will also compete in Premier League 2 and the EFL Trophy this season.
