Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage has provided an update on four players ahead of Thursday’s Europa League trip to Besiktas.
Ben Chilwell is expected to be back in the squad for the match in Istanbul after missing Palace’s last three matchday squads through injury. His return provides a boost for the Eagles as they prepare for their second away fixture in this season’s competition.
Takehiro Tomiyasu will not be involved, with Sage confirming that the defender is expected to remain unavailable until after the next international break. Quinten Timber is also ruled out for the trip to Turkey.
There was more encouraging news regarding captain Dean Henderson, who has not played since Palace’s match against Fulham in early September. The goalkeeper resumed team training on Monday, but he will not travel for Thursday’s game. Sage said his availability would be assessed for the weekend.
Palace face last season’s fourth-placed Süper Lig side in Istanbul as they continue their Europa League campaign.
