Crystal Palace will visit Beşiktaş next week for their third Europa League fixture of the season, with the match taking place at Beşiktaş Park on Thursday 22 October. Kick-off is scheduled for 22:00 local time in Turkey, which is 20:00 BST.
Around 2,100 Palace supporters are expected to make up the away section. Tickets remain available to qualifying supporters until 17:30 BST on Tuesday 20 October, subject to availability, and are strictly non-transferable. The club has warned that unauthorised ticket transfers could lead to a ban from buying tickets for future European matches.
Tickets will be sent as PDF attachments to the lead purchaser’s email address over three working days from Friday 16 October. Supporters who have not received their ticket by 09:00 BST on Wednesday 21 October should contact the Palace Box Office. Visiting fans should use entrance M-1-5 at the stadium, while wheelchair users and others requiring step-free access to the general admission turnstiles should use the Category 1 entrance.
Beşiktaş Park is approximately a 15-minute walk from Taksim Square, although the route to the stadium entrance includes a steep section. Road closures are expected around the ground before and after the match, so taxi passengers are advised to request a drop-off on Meclis-i-Mebusann CD. Uber operates in Istanbul, alongside the city’s yellow taxis. Taksim Square itself offers bars, restaurants, coffee shops, döner stands and shopping areas.
Palace has also reminded travelling British supporters that passports must be carried at all times under Turkish law. From Istanbul Airport, a taxi to Taksim Square generally takes 45 minutes to an hour, while the metro journey takes around 50 minutes via the M11 to Gayrettepe and then the M2 to Taksim. Cash is commonly preferred across the city, although major cards are accepted in many locations. Supporters are encouraged to read the UK government’s Turkey travel advice and register for travel email alerts. Palace Supporter Liaison Officer and Disability Access Officer Nikki can be contacted in Turkey on 07345 703 244.
