Owen Goodman delivered a standout performance for Dundee in midweek, combining excellent goalkeeping with an unexpected contribution at the other end as his side defeated Kilmarnock 3-1.
The Crystal Palace loanee was especially influential after half-time. Goodman made a superb reaction save to deny Joe Hugill, getting a strong hand to the forward’s fierce volley and turning it over the crossbar, before keeping out another effort from the same player. Kilmarnock did find an equaliser, but Dundee restored their advantage with 10 minutes remaining.
Goodman then played a decisive role in stoppage time. He launched a long ball forward, with Ashley Hay helping it on before racing through and heading beyond the stranded goalkeeper into an empty net to complete the scoring.
There was disappointment for Dundee at the weekend, as they were beaten 2-1 by St Mirren in Paisley in difficult conditions. Goodman’s midweek display nevertheless provided a memorable moment for the 22-year-old, who has also featured alongside fellow Palace loanee Jesurun Rak-Sakyi in Palace TV’s Loan Life series.
The series gives supporters a behind-the-scenes view of the pair’s experiences adapting to new clubs and developing through senior football, with every episode available on Palace TV.
