Dean Henderson has called on Crystal Palace to remain ambitious, insisting that the club still has plenty to achieve during the 2026/27 season. The Eagles have endured inconsistent results, particularly in the Premier League, but their campaign also includes four points from three UEFA Europa League matches and a club-record third successive Carabao Cup quarter-final appearance.

Henderson is set to lead Palace into their European meeting with Hoffenheim at Selhurst Park after returning from injury with two impressive performances last week. The goalkeeper believes competing in Europe is a reward for the progress made by the squad over recent seasons and wants everyone connected with the club to enjoy the experience and support another strong run.

The captain acknowledged that Palace have won only two of their last seven matches, but said the group is prepared to respond to difficult periods. He remains confident that the team will improve as its players and coaching staff continue to build their understanding, adding that progress is not always reflected immediately in results.

Palace’s defensive performances have also attracted attention, and Henderson accepted that the players must take responsibility for avoidable mistakes and lapses in game management. He highlighted the need for greater composure when protecting possession and managing pressure, while stressing that new defensive partnerships require time to develop. In his view, confidence will be an important part of producing a more reliable backline.

The goalkeeper said the squad has had a productive training week and is working to apply the manager’s ideas with greater conviction. He believes a major victory could help settle some of the team’s problems and strengthen belief within the group, but remained certain that Palace will eventually find their level if they continue working together.
