Crystal Palace's difficult run continued on Saturday as Tottenham secured a 2-0 Premier League victory, handing the Eagles a third consecutive defeat.
Palace were reduced to 10 men in the 13th minute when Jean-Philippe Mateta was sent off for a dangerous tackle on Micky van de Ven. Tottenham took advantage of their numerical superiority and opened the scoring through Archie Gray, who headed home in the 25th minute.
The hosts continued to control the match and added a second goal in unusual fashion when Jan Paul van Hecke found the net in the 73rd minute. Tottenham completed a third successive victory after previously overcoming Coventry and Chelsea.
The result leaves Palace 18th in the Premier League, while Tottenham move up to eighth. Palace's next fixtures include a home Europa League meeting with Hoffenheim before they return to league action against Liverpool.
