Arsenal have confirmed the signing of Crystal Palace academy forward Mylo Bernard, bringing an end to the teenager’s eight-year association with the Eagles.

The 16-year-old will join Arsenal’s first-year scholarship intake for the 2026/27 season after deciding against signing a new contract at Selhurst Park. He has also agreed a pre-contract arrangement that will lead to a professional deal with the Gunners when he turns 17.

Bernard scored more than 40 goals across Palace’s academy last season, including six in the Under-18 Premier League despite stepping above his usual age group. His form also earned him recognition from England, with the striker scoring four times in eight appearances for the Under-16s.

Primarily a centre-forward, Bernard can also operate on either wing or in a deeper No.10 role. That range of positions has contributed to his reputation as one of the most talented players in his age group and helped attract Arsenal’s attention.

Following his departure, Bernard paid tribute to Palace in an Instagram statement. He said the club had shaped him both as a person and a player, while thanking the coaches and teammates who had supported his development during his time in south London.

Bernard’s move represents another academy departure for Palace, with the highly rated youngster now set to continue his development at Arsenal before becoming eligible to sign professional terms.
