Crystal Palace Women manager Jo Potter has confirmed that her squad has no new injury concerns ahead of Sunday’s Barclays Women’s Super League meeting with Tottenham Hotspur at Selhurst Park, with the team expected to be available for selection.
Palace return to their home ground after opening the season with a victory over Everton and a hard-earned draw away to Arsenal. Potter is pleased with the early results but has urged her players to remain grounded, pointing to the unpredictable nature of the league and the lessons learned from last season’s contrasting fortunes.
The opening fixtures have required Palace to demonstrate different qualities. They created consistently against Everton before producing a resolute defensive display at Arsenal, and Potter believes that range will be important throughout the campaign. She wants her side to be capable of changing their approach rather than relying on one fixed style, arguing that variety can make them more difficult to contain.
Goalkeeper Pauline Peyraud-Magnin was particularly influential against Arsenal, and Potter praised the France international’s experience after she made a series of saves. The manager said that adding a goalkeeper with that level of experience was important for Palace’s challenge in the division.
Tottenham will provide another demanding test at Selhurst Park. Potter described Spurs as an increasingly strong team, highlighting the quality of their recruitment and the intensity of their playing style. She also praised their manager, Martin, for helping the club progress, while identifying Tottenham’s continued development on and off the pitch as an example Palace want to follow.
