Pierre Sage has endured a difficult start to life as Crystal Palace manager, with defeats by Everton and Manchester City followed by uncertainty over several key players from last season’s Conference League-winning squad.
Ismaïla Sarr and Jean-Philippe Mateta both remain at Selhurst Park despite interest from Liverpool and Aston Villa. Palace also added four players, although they missed out to Sunderland in the race for Malick Fofana in one of deadline day’s major dramas.
Sage has accepted the challenges of his first transfer window in south London and can now turn his attention fully to the pitch. Palace travel to Fulham on Saturday seeking their first points of the new campaign.
