Palace for Life Foundation’s Marathon March will celebrate its 10th anniversary on Saturday, 3 October, with a record number of Crystal Palace supporters taking on the 26.2-mile challenge in aid of young people across South London.

More than 320 members of the Palace community are expected to take part, surpassing last year’s participation figure by 100. Palace legends Mark Bright, Andrew Johnson and Fliss Gibbons will be among those completing the route, which begins and ends at Selhurst Park.

The challenge is completed on foot rather than by running, with participants set to pass landmarks including Battersea Bridge and Battersea Power Station before facing the final climb back to the stadium. Once they finish, Marchers will complete a lap of the Selhurst Park pitch and attend a Palace-themed celebration. They will also receive a commemorative T-shirt and medal, while a special menu will provide refreshments during the event.

Every participant has committed to raising at least £300 in sponsorship. Since 2017, Palace fans have raised more than £850,000 through the Marathon March for projects supporting young people in the local community, with last year’s event generating over £130,000. The Foundation is now aiming to move towards the £1 million milestone.

Funds raised help Palace for Life support young South Londoners through programmes focused on physical and mental health, employment opportunities and mentoring for those facing mental health challenges. Brooks Running is supporting the event for a second consecutive year, while fans who are not taking part can donate or support the Marchers along the route.
