Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage has confirmed that Ismaila Sarr and Eddie Nketiah have trained with the squad this week and could feature against Lech Poznan in Thursday's Europa League opener at Selhurst Park.
Sarr has yet to play under Sage after dealing with a groin problem, while Nketiah has missed Palace's last two matches because of injury. Sage said both players are now in condition to be considered for the game, which is scheduled to kick off at 20:00 BST.
Sage also provided an update on Jean-Philippe Mateta and Dean Henderson, who have been unavailable with injuries. The Palace boss said he hoped both could return after the international break, while acknowledging that recovery times can vary with longer-term injuries.
Henderson will not be available against Lech, but the goalkeeper signed a new contract keeping him at Palace until 2030 on Wednesday. Sage welcomed the agreement and praised the captain's goalkeeping ability, leadership and influence within the dressing room. He also credited Palace's other goalkeepers, saying their performances contribute to Henderson maintaining a high level.
The manager was also asked about Jaydee Canvot's reaction to being omitted from the squad for last weekend's defeat by Ipswich. Sage said the situation had been clearly addressed during the week. Reports that the Palace board were unhappy with the decision were described by Sage as unofficial, and he said he had spoken with chairman Steve Parish and that there was no problem.
Palace have studied seven of Lech Poznan's matches this season, according to Sage. He noted that the Polish side began their campaign early and had to recover from defeat in the Champions League qualifiers, while warning his players to remain focused against a team he believes is improving from match to match.
