Palace for Life’s 10th Marathon March has raised more than £136,000 and counting, the highest total in the event’s history. A record 320 Marchers completed the 26-mile challenge on Saturday 3 October, helping the Foundation pass a major fundraising milestone.
The 2026 event took the total raised across all 10 Marathon Marches beyond £1 million for work supporting young people in South London. The challenge has brought together thousands of Palace fans since its first edition in 2017, with donations continuing to arrive after this year’s March. Around 20 per cent of contributions are typically made after the event, meaning the latest total could still grow.
Nine dedicated participants have completed every Marathon March: Mark Bright, Paul Clark, Liam Connery, Kevin Day, Christine Gausden, Martin Hollands, Say Leddington, Andy Street and Mike Summers. Their decade of commitment has helped establish the event as a major part of Palace for Life’s community fundraising efforts.
Brooks Running supported this year’s March as sponsor, helping the participants take on the demanding route. After reaching Selhurst Park, the Marchers celebrated alongside members of the DS Eagles team, posed with the FA Cup, Community Shield and UEFA Conference League trophy, and finished with a lap of honour around the stadium.
Funds raised will support Palace for Life programmes reaching more than 20,000 young people each year through education, employability, mentoring and physical activity. The Foundation also provides specialist mentoring for people facing mental health challenges or involvement in the justice system, while its employment programmes help young people move towards education, training and work.
