Crystal Palace have reached the Carabao Cup fourth round after overcoming Middlesbrough at Selhurst Park, but their next opponents will not be confirmed until next week.

The draw is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 16 September, live on Sky Sports after Manchester United’s televised third-round tie against Brighton & Hove Albion. That match is due to begin at 20:00 BST, meaning the draw is expected at approximately 22:15 if the game does not go to penalties.

Palace will be among the teams competing for a place in the quarter-finals, with fourth-round fixtures planned for the week beginning Monday, 26 October. Unlike the previous round, there will be no draw restrictions, so any side still in the competition can be paired with any other.

There are 10 third-round matches still to be played during the week beginning Monday, 14 September. Bournemouth, Sunderland, Newcastle and Bradford City are already guaranteed to join Palace in the fourth round, while Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Manchester United, Aston Villa and Manchester City are among the clubs still awaiting their ties.

Any fourth-round match level after 90 minutes will go directly to a penalty shootout. Extra time is only introduced in the Carabao Cup from the semi-final stage onwards.
