Crystal Palace made an emphatic start to their first Europa League campaign, securing a 4-0 victory over Lech Poznan and taking maximum points from matchday one.
The Eagles established control before the interval. Yéremy Pino opened the scoring, Chris Richards added a header and Jørgen Strand Larsen converted from the penalty spot to give Palace a commanding 3-0 lead at half-time.
Palace continued to manage the contest comfortably after the break, before substitute Eddie Nketiah completed the scoring in the closing stages. He produced a clever finish after Dwight McNeil had created the opportunity with good work.
The result marked an impressive return to European competition for Palace, who began their campaign in perfect fashion. Supporters can now vote for the team’s Player of the Match.
