Lexi Lloyd-Smith has been named Crystal Palace’s Temporal Player of the Month for September after making an immediate impact since returning to South London.
The Palace No.7 began the month with a decisive debut against Everton. Her first-half finish secured victory for the Eagles in their opening Barclays Women’s Super League match back in action.
Lloyd-Smith was on target again in the league during Palace’s 3-3 thriller with Birmingham City. She won possession from a retreating defender before carrying the ball into the box and placing her effort into the corner to put Palace 3-2 ahead.
She completed a memorable month against Charlton in the Subway Players Cup, curling a long-range strike into the net during a 3-0 Palace victory.
Lloyd-Smith finished the supporters’ poll with 38.8 per cent of the vote. Shanade Hopcroft followed in second place with 30.6 per cent, while Pauline Peyraud-Magnin took third with 14.3 per cent.
Reacting to the award, Lloyd-Smith said: “This would not have been possible without my teammates, thank you all!”
