Anan Khalaili has praised Crystal Palace’s performance after Sunday’s 0-0 draw with Leeds United at Elland Road, insisting the team can be proud of the way it handled a demanding contest.

The 22-year-old again offered an attacking outlet on the right flank, regularly threatening Leeds and nearly creating a winning goal for Tyrick Mitchell. However, that move was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.

Khalaili also contributed at the other end as Palace secured their first Premier League clean sheet of the season. His defensive display included three clearances, two tackles and an interception, underlining his influence throughout the match.

The result carried added merit given the circumstances. Leeds had faced Newcastle United less than a week earlier, with Newcastle conceding four goals, while the hosts also had three extra days to prepare for the fixture. Despite the intensity of Leeds’ approach, Palace created opportunities and kept their opponents out.

Speaking to Palace TV, Khalaili highlighted the importance of refusing to concede and said he could see positive signs in the team’s progress. Six matches into his Palace career following his summer move from Union SG, he also spoke warmly about life in south London, describing London as one of the world’s best cities and expressing his happiness at being with the club.
