Crystal Palace Women suffered a 7-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur, with an early red card for Fuka Tsunoda leaving Jo Potter's side with 10 players for most of the contest.

Palace kept Tottenham out during a goalless first half, but the visitors eventually took control after the interval. Fatigue became a factor, and Tottenham scored seven times in the second period to secure a heavy victory.

Potter acknowledged the difficulty of the result while highlighting the effort shown by her players after Tsunoda's dismissal. The manager felt Palace regrouped effectively before half-time, but said conceding soon after the restart affected the team's confidence. She also made clear that allowing so many goals was not acceptable to the Eagles.

The Palace boss has called for a swift reset, with the team returning to action on Wednesday against Watford in the Subway Player's Cup League Phase. Potter said the short turnaround means the squad must review the Tottenham match quickly before preparing for the next challenge.

The Watford fixture begins at 19:00, and tickets are currently on sale.
