Jamie-Lee Napier says Crystal Palace Women have the character and leadership needed to recover from their 2-1 defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion.
Palace went into half-time ahead after Annabel Blanchard scored a stunning first-half goal. However, Brighton turned the game around with two goals in a five-minute spell after the interval, leaving the visitors without a point.
Napier admitted the result was particularly difficult to take after Palace had been in a strong position at the break. She also highlighted her belief in the group and the senior figures within the squad, who she feels can help lift the team ahead of its next challenge.
The defender said the players would use the week to review the performance and work on the areas that need improvement before facing Charlton Athletic. The fixture is a South London derby, but Napier stressed that every match in the Barclays Women's Super League carries importance.
A victory on Sunday could move Palace up to 10th place in the league. Napier expects the team to approach the match with renewed confidence, determination and belief, while recognising what three points would mean to the club and its supporters.
She also urged Palace fans to attend in numbers and provide their backing as the team aims to deliver a strong performance. The match is scheduled to begin at 14:00 GMT on Sunday, 8 November, at The 360 Engage Stadium.
