Crystal Palace are next up for Ipswich Town, with the two sides meeting on Saturday at 15:00 BST, and left-back Leif Davis says his team are ready for another difficult Premier League assignment.

Davis has started Ipswich’s first three league matches and is adapting to a new role under manager Gary O’Neil. The defender previously worked with O’Neil during a loan spell at Bournemouth and said that familiarity has helped him settle back in with the coach and his staff.

Ipswich are using a different system from the one Davis had played in during the previous three years, with the 24-year-old now moving into more central areas at times. He believes O’Neil understands his ability to contribute in both directions, while also making use of his athleticism.

Davis also highlighted the need for constant concentration in the Premier League. After experiencing the division previously, he said he has learned that even a brief lapse can be punished by the quality of the opposition. He does not expect Palace to provide an easier challenge, insisting that every team in the division has its own strengths and style, but added that Ipswich are looking forward to the contest.
