Daichi Kamada has won Crystal Palace’s September Goal of the Month award after his composed chip in the Carabao Cup victory over Middlesbrough topped the supporters’ vote.
The Japan international’s finish was selected from a shortlist featuring 31 goals scored across Palace’s Men’s, Women’s and Academy teams during the month. Kamada collected 40 per cent of the final vote.
Members of the DS Eagles presented Kamada with the award, recognising a goal that ultimately stood clear of the competition. Tyrick Mitchell’s effort against Fulham, Jørgen Strand Larsen’s finishes against Middlesbrough and Ipswich, and Anan Khalaili’s first Palace goal against Ipswich were also among the nominated strikes.
Donte Martin finished second with 22 per cent for his goal for the Under-18s against Fulham. Yéremy Pino’s effort in the Europa League win over Lech Poznan placed third with 9.6 per cent.
Pino’s goal was also Palace’s first in the Europa League, adding further significance to a shortlist that included contributions from across the club.
