Crystal Palace will look to Axel Disasi for a response when Newcastle United visit Selhurst Park on Sunday, with Pierre Sage under pressure to tighten up his side’s home form.

Palace have not kept a Premier League clean sheet at Selhurst Park for six months. They have also conceded eight goals across their four home league matches this season, leaving defensive improvement as a clear priority against Newcastle.

Disasi is available again after serving a suspension for the reckless red card he received during the defeat by Ipswich Town. The centre-back joined Palace on loan from Chelsea to provide experience, but his dismissal contributed to the loss against the newly promoted side.

He was then forced to watch from the stands as Palace suffered a heavy defeat against Brighton. The Newcastle fixture gives Disasi an opportunity to repair his early impression in south London and provide Sage with greater security at the back.

Palace will need that response quickly as they attempt to halt their difficult run at home and give themselves a stronger platform against Newcastle.
