Crystal Palace's bid to complete a perfect week ended in disappointment as Ipswich Town fought back to win 3-2 at Selhurst Park. The Eagles had entered the match after victories over Fulham and Middlesbrough, but were unable to protect an early advantage after being reduced to 10 men.
Anan Khalaili opened the scoring for Palace after receiving Daichi Kamada's square pass. He took a touch before sending a shot towards goal, with the effort taking a minor deflection off Leif Davis on its way past Ipswich goalkeeper Kjell Scherpen.
Palace threatened to extend their lead, including when Jorgen Strand Larsen saw a powerful volley stopped. Ipswich equalised when Davis delivered from the left and Emersonn was allowed to meet the cross with a header. The visitors were then handed a major advantage in the 34th minute when Axel Disasi received a straight red card for catching Jack Clarke on the shin with his studs.
Ipswich used their numerical advantage to move in front shortly before half-time, with Davis heading home from a free-kick. Palace pushed forward after the break and Quiten Timber had two opportunities to restore parity before Strand Larsen eventually levelled, holding off his marker before finding the bottom-left corner.
The comeback was undone in the 90th minute. Davis's looping header struck the crossbar, and substitute Zian Flemming reacted quickest to guide the rebound into the net and give Gary O'Neil's side victory. The result was Ipswich's first Premier League away win since April 2025, while it ended a run of 32 league matches in which they had conceded first without winning.
