Palace made the stronger start when Anan Khalaili opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Ipswich responded quickly, with Emersonn bringing the visitors level nine minutes later before Davis completed the turnaround just before half-time.
The task became more difficult for Palace when Axel Disasi was sent off in the 34th minute. Despite playing with 10 men, the hosts fought back after the interval and restored parity through Strand Larsen in the 75th minute.
However, Palace could not hold on for a point. Zian Flemming delivered the decisive blow in the 90th minute, giving Ipswich a 3-2 victory and leaving Pierre Sage facing an unsettling result.
