Crystal Palace have relaunched their WhatsApp Channel as a dedicated matchday service for supporters. The club says it will provide important information and help match-going fans stay up to date throughout the day.
Followers will also receive the latest matchday content, including press conferences, team news and results. Supporters can join by using the official link on a device with WhatsApp installed.
Those accessing the service through the app can open the ‘Updates’ tab, found in the bottom-left corner of the mobile version next to ‘Calls’. After selecting the channels section, users can search for ‘Crystal Palace Football Club’ and tap ‘Follow’.
WhatsApp notifications are muted by default. Fans who want alerts when Palace posts should open the channel and select the bell icon in the top-right corner, which will unmute notifications and help them receive breaking updates promptly.
The channel operates as a one-way service, meaning supporters cannot reply to posts. They can, however, react using emojis and see which updates receive the most reactions. WhatsApp also protects the information of channel administrators and followers, while keeping users’ choices of which channels to follow private.
