Crystal Palace will attempt to build on their first Premier League home victory under Pierre Sage when they visit Brighton on Sunday, with kick-off scheduled for 14:00 BST. The Eagles are looking for consecutive top-flight wins for the first time since December 2025.
Their victory over Nottingham Forest last weekend came despite a testing defensive display. Palace allowed Forest eight chances classified by Opta as big chances, a total only the second Premier League side in 13 years to concede while still winning.
Walter Benitez played an important role in securing the result, making several key saves to keep Palace in the contest. The Argentine is deputising for the injured Dean Henderson and was involved again on Thursday, when Palace were beaten 3-2 by Lyon in European action.
Palace's defensive workload has been heavy across the league campaign. After six matches, they had faced 108 shots with a combined expected goals figure of 12.8, both the highest totals in the Premier League.
The challenge does not get easier against a Brighton side in outstanding form. The hosts have won their past five matches in all competitions, scoring 17 goals and conceding twice, and are pursuing a fourth consecutive Premier League victory. Brighton were also in European action on Thursday, although they played at home while Palace travelled to Lyon, making squad management another factor ahead of the Amex Stadium meeting.
