Crystal Palace midfielder Zavier Gozo has been selected for the United States senior squad for the first time, with teammate Chris Richards also included in the 28-man group.

Gozo could make his senior international debut during the upcoming break. The Palace summer signing has previously represented the USA at youth level, making 16 appearances for the under-20 team.

The United States are scheduled to play four friendlies against Peru, Chile, Mexico and Canada during the September/October window. The fixtures will give Gozo an opportunity to earn his first cap under head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

Richards will aim to add to his 40 senior appearances for the USA. The Palace defender featured in the majority of his country’s matches at the World Cup, and his inclusion provides further international recognition for the Eagles squad.
