Axel Disasi was omitted by Pierre Sage for the Europa League match against Hoffenheim after arriving late to a team meeting in recent days.
Sage had declined to explain the decision after the 1-1 draw, describing it as an internal matter and saying that he had made the call on the afternoon of the match.
The decision was taken internally as a one-match disciplinary measure, with Disasi left out of the group for the meeting with Hoffenheim.
The France international could return to the squad when Liverpool visit on Sunday.
