Crystal Palace secured their first home Premier League victory of the 2026/27 season by coming from behind to beat Nottingham Forest 3-1 at Selhurst Park, with Chris Richards highlighting the collective effort behind the result.

The Eagles had to endure sustained pressure and finished the afternoon having faced 24 shots. Forest struck inside the opening three minutes, but Palace remained in the contest before turning the match in their favour.

Richards acknowledged the contribution of goalkeeper Walter Benítez, whose important saves helped Palace stay within reach of a comeback. He also stressed that the team’s ability to stay united through a difficult spell was central to earning the three points.

Palace have now collected six Premier League points from losing positions this season, more than any other side. Richards said the team had focused on being more clinical after the defeat to Leeds, and felt they had delivered on that objective against Forest.

The victory also gave Palace their first home league success of the campaign. Richards said winning in front of the supporters set a standard for the matches ahead, with the defender insisting that Selhurst must become a fortress as the season continues.
